9 Months!

AJ turned 9 months old last week!  I can't believe how fast the time goes.  I was just watching some video of him from when he was a newborn, and I can't believe how little he was.  Now he's a mega-baby.  At his nine month well baby check up he weighed in at 20 lbs, 10 oz (60 %) and is 28.5 inches tall (55%).  I wonder if he's coming due for a growth spurt, because his weight percentile is a little higher and his height is a little lower than it's been in the past.  I'll watch out for a sprouting baby.

Over the last couple of weeks, it seems like he has learned all kinds of skills - crawling, waving, feeding himself, pulling up, etc.  He is suddenly a baby on the move!

At nine months, some of AJ's favorite things are:
  • Standing
  • Pulling mom's hair
  • Playing with the door knocker
  • Swinging
  • Matchbox cars
  • Swimming
  • Playing with dangerous electrical cords from any and all appliances
  • Standing
  • Drinking out of mom's glass
  • Going outside
  • Faucets
  • Splashing in the bathtub
  • Standing
  • Turning off light switches
  • When dad comes home
  • Nodding his head (looks like head banging at this point)
  • Shaking his head
  • The garbage truck
  • Getting tickled
Things that freak him out:
  • The vacuum
  • The occasional stranger
  • Pixar's "Monsters Vs. Aliens"
Here is a raw, unedited video of AJ crawling this morning.  He still holds the title of "Cutest Baby on the Planet.

Fort Lauderdale

Another blog post so soon?! I'm sure you are fainting in surprise!

Jordan and I have made a tradition of going on a little trip every other year to celebrate our anniversary.  This year, we went to Florida.  Jordan has to go there once a year for work anyway, so we extended it a few days and turned it into a family vacation.  We stayed at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort.  It was soooo nice! We played at the beach and swam in the pool.  AJ loves to swim! He loved playing in the sand, and liked the ocean, too. Jordan gave me some time at the spa for an anniversary/Mothers Day gift.  I got a fantastic massage and pedicure while AJ hung out with his dad.  AJ did great on this trip, and our only regret is that we didn't stay longer.

We don't actually have that many photos, because we were too busy having fun.

AJ was happy to relax on a soft bed in a cool room after traveling that morning.

Getting ready for the beach.

Discovering sand.  Fortunately he didn't try to eat it.

The next day when we went to the beach the sun was a lot brighter, so we decked AJ out in full sun gear.

He had a great time playing in the sand, and it was so much fun to watch him experiment with it.
