12 Week Update

AJ is growing up!  He turned 12 weeks on Friday, although he won't officially be 3 months old until next Friday.  He is learning and doing new things every day.  Probably his favorite activity is talking to his mom and dad.  AJ loves to experiment with his voice.  He'll carry on a conversation for as long as you want. One uber-cute thing he does is comment on his sneezes, "Achoo, aaayyyy" " Achoo, ooohh." I've heard a few hints of laughter, so I can't wait to hear the real thing!  His second favorite activity is learning about his hands and putting them in his mouth.  AJ also likes to do mini-pushups when he's on his tummy, although he only likes to be on his tummy if he's in a good mood.  Then it is so adorable to see him smiling with his head up. He's rolled over on to his side once, but he looked pretty surprised and confused about how he got there.  He also seemed kind of stuck.

AJ has taken a big step in his life.  He moved out of his parents' room at night and into his own room!  He takes all his naps in his cribs already, and he sleeps through the night,so he felt ready for the move.  Mostly, he had to convince his mom that he would be ok.  She still checks in on him occasionally.  Wouldn't you check on this little guy?

Our little big man is getting bigger, too!  He is starting to grow out of his 0-3 month clothes and is starting in on his new 3 months wardrobe, although a lot of it is still a little big, somethings fit him surprisingly well. He'll have really cute clothes on in February when he goes to Colorado to meet more of his family!

Andre's Baby Blessing

AJ was blessed at church on November 8th.  He was 9 weeks old.  Jordan performed the blessing and we had some friends come down from Falls Church to participate.  Jordan and I were very glad that Jordan's best friend, Andy, could participate in the blessing also.  Jordan's father was in town to meet AJ, so he got to witness the blessing also.  Some of the things that Jordan blessed AJ with are the desire to be a servant of Jesus Christ, seek spiritual gifts, intelligence, wisdom, the desire to learn, to be a good example to others, succeed in all his pursuits, serve a mission, preach the gospel and raise a family.  He also said how grateful we are to have AJ in our family and blessed him to be a healthy, supportive member of the family.  It was a great blessing!

AJ's First Road Trip

AJ took his first road trip at 5 weeks old. We went to an orchard in western VA to pick apples. We know he loved it because he smiled his very first smile on this trip!

AJ didn't see much of the orchard because he slept in the carrier the whole time.

Jordan in search of the perfect apple.  We found several of them and ate multiple apples a day for a few weeks!

AJ was so exhausted from sleeping in the apple orchard that he slept on the way home too!  I think he really liked his first road trip.
